I have always been a builder. I have always wanted to be a builder and I quite simply cannot imagine being anything else. The satisfaction of building something with my own two hand, of bringing together concrete, stone, wood and water and turning it into a home, everything fitting with perfect precision, is one that I cannot image living without.
The best part is when you put away your tools, fold up the sheets, clean away the last of the dust and show the client.
I've been doing it since I was a teenager and a couple of years ago I took the leap and started MJ.MC. Builder Ltd - my own building company - and I have never looked back. When it's your own company and you are overseeing a project you take that much more responsibility for it. It means always being on time. It means earlier mornings, harder days and often later evenings, it means you triple check every measurement and line before putting anything down because whatever happens you're going to keep working on it until you're satisfied, and more importantly until your client is satisfied.
I work with a number of skilled craftsmen. Men who work hard and always do a good job. I oversee all the work that is done, making sure that at the end of the day I am proud to put my name against it.
My business model is simple. Do a really good job, make sure that the client loves the work you have done for them, make sure that after the work is finished that if they ever need you, you are there for them and then, whether it is in two weeks or five years someone will mention to your client that they are thinking of an extension or having their kitchen redone and your client will recommend you. And that is how I stay in business

We would like to thank you and Chris for the outstanding refurbishment work that you did on our two four bedroom houses earlier this year. We were impressed by the very high standard of your craftsmanship and at tent ion to detail which was total ly FIRST CLASS. We would like to comment on the excellent work that you did which started initially wi th you being asked to complete a Bathroom and Toilet makeover which included dismantling old bath, toi let and stripping of f tiles and replacing same. The work was completed wi thin the agreed t ime and done to a high standard. The other work you did on this property also included paving of garden patio and replacing an old single French window door to an impressive double door and French windows and refurbishment of doors and windows all done to the highest standard of workmanship. Af ter completion of this work we were so impressed that we asked you to do substantial refurbishment to another property that we had rented out. I have included photos of the completed rooms that you did, especially the Bathroom, shower and toi let which required remodelling an old airing cupboard and the construction of a wall and door shell then total re-tiling. The completed work again was done to a high quality and included your helpful ideas which showed your professional at t i tude and at tent ion to detail. The other work you did again completed to a very high standard included re-settling the windows, painting and decoration of every room, including doors and in the garden area constructing a fence and a new patio area. We can also say that you and your co-workers are total ly t rustwor thy and that we were happy to leave you wi th the keys to the property and would highly recommend you and any of your employees to anybody as we have done already to some of our friends.
